A Powerful 4-Step Plan For Becoming
A Star In Anything You Do

People often confuse an “ability” or a “skill” with a “Talent.” They are all different, and it is very important to know the difference. “Ability” is a quality that allows you to perform a task. (I can play golf.) A “skill” is an ability that has been acquired by training. (I can get skilled at golf.) A “Talent” is an “innate” ability. (No matter how skilled I become, I will never be a Tiger Woods or Vijay Singh.)
Larry and Vijay Singh

Likewise, let’s evaluate three different lawyers. One has the “ability” to practice law. (She graduated law school and passed the bar.) Another is a “skilled” lawyer. (She has been practicing for a while.) And the third is a “Talented” lawyer. (She could eventually become a Supreme Court Justice.)
Reese Witherspoon and Larry

It is so important that you understand these distinctions if you truly want to attain Stardom. If in your career, you have chosen to spend your valuable time working hard at something you only have an ability to do, no matter how hard you work at it, you will only achieve a certain level of skill at it. Whereas if you were to spend the same effort, or maybe even less, at something you had a Talent for, you could potentially soar to Stardom. Without underlying Talent, learning a skill is simply surviving, not an opportunity to reach your full potential.
David Bowie and Iman with Larry

Ask yourself :

1. Are you doing things that “please you,” or things that “pay you”?

2. Are you following “your bliss” or merely “your opportunities”?

3. Are you using the talents you have been given or have you .buried them under your fear?

4.
Are you being “efficient” with your life or “effective”? (Being efficient means doing things right. Being effective means doing the right things.)

5. If you let your spirit out, where would it take you?

6.

Are you still growing? Or are you just growing older?

.

“I get to play golf for a living. What more can you ask for - getting paid for doing what you love."

“At about 5 years old, I knew I’d be a lawyer but never imagined where that would take me.”
